What is the KORUS Free Trade Agreement? How can your Company benefit from it?
The United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA) was signed by both governments on June 30, 2007 and was entered in to force on March 15, 2012. 95% of U.S.-KOR bilateral trade in consumer and industrial products will be duty-free within three years. According to government estimates, the FTA will increase exports to Korea by $10 billion annually. Imports are also expected to grow as Korean products become duty free into the U.S.
The Office of the United States Trade Representative asserts that the KORUS FTA “is the United States’ most commercially significant free trade agreement in almost two decades." It is the first U.S. FTA with a North Asian partner. Join us as we discuss the agreement with our guests who are doing business under the FTA and understand its benefits, as well as its challenges.
